The package price of $1450 includes all accommodations with breakfast and dinner every day, and dancing every evening with snacks after the dances, starting with dinner on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, through breakfast on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. It also includes lunch on the first full day, Thursday, April 3, 2025. After the dances there will be an opportunity for socializing and music jamming in one of our house lounges. During the day enjoy strolling around the city of Ely. The centerpiece of the town is the Cathedral which offers several tours, some that climb the stairs of the West Tower or Lantern Tower to get wonderful views of the fens. There are many historic sites, shops, an antique center, tearooms and pubs to explore. Market days occur on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Enjoy walking along the river walk or take a short river cruise on a tour boat on the River Great Ouse. There are several local museums to explore such as the Stained Glass Museum, the Ely Museum and the Oliver Cromwell House.
In the surrounding area there are many tourist attractions. Please see the excursion page where you will see several day trips for which we have arranged group transportation via charter bus in the past. There will be an orientation meeting on the first morning to learn about these trips, and we will have sign up sheets on a bulletin board with tour options.
In past years, many people have enjoyed some of the services in Ely Cathedral which are accompanied by chorister singing and one of the finest pipe organs in the world. The cathedral web site contains schedule details.
Registration for this event is by mail only, and begins with June 3, 2024 postmarks. You will need to send your registration form and deposit check for $150 ($100 refundable if you cancel before Nov. 15, 2024). You can download, print, fill out, and mail the registration form with the check, or e-mail the registration form. A further $800 is due by November 15, 2024 and the balance of $500 by February 1, 2025. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. We decided against electronic registration due to the approximately $50 cost that it would add. Also note that participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from Ely; check our transportation page for information.
Cancellation Policy: While $100 of the deposit is refundable (see above), the remaining fee is non-refundable except at the discretion of the committee, and is dependent on our being able to fill your spot. This is because of our contract with the school, and is why we strongly suggest travel insurance. Here’s one broker to try. However, if we cancel all is refundable.
No-Smoking Policy: Applies to all the buildings and accommodations that we will be using for this dance week as well as in public places in England such as cafes, restaurants and pubs.
Covid Policy: We will follow all the rules required by the USA, UK, and the King’s School whatever they are at the time of the event.
